Daniel advances to finals!

Daniel was able to win his semifinal bout via unanimous decision on Friday and will now square off with Desmond Green for the tournament championship.

It was a tough fight for Daniel against a well trained Matt Bessette who had beaten Diego Nunes in his quarter final bout.

The long travel of 24(!) hours in total and the high altitude took their toll in the fight as Daniel was lacking of his usual explosiveness and speed. He therefore decided to adapt his gameplan to make sure he would fight again in no time.

Round 1 and 3 were dominated by a couple of takedowns, ground control and ground and pound, whereas the 2. round was a close affair, which was edged out by Bessette on 2 of the 3 judge´s scorecards.

Daniel has already returned to Germany in order to take a couple of days off, but will soon enter his final preparations for the finals on the second of May in Atlantic City.
