One of the greatest mma fighters ever calls it quit! Khabib Nurmagomedov was able to unify the UFC lightweight championship and interim championship as he defeated Justin Gaethje with a second round triangle choke. Relentless pressure was the name of the game as Khabib pushed forward as if there was no tomorrow from the get-go. Gaethje countered with hard shots and legkicks, but was unable to stop his foe from marching forward and would have probably already been submitted at the end of round one if it wasn´t for the time running out for the champion. That would make no difference though as Khabib continued with more pressure in the second round, took Gaethje down and submitted him with a triangle choke to leave him unconscious. He would declare his retirement after the fight and leaves the sport with an incredible 29-0-0 record to spend more time with his mother. The feat becomes even more special considering the passing of his father, who was also his mentor and trainer earlier this year and the fact that he must have known that this would be his last fight.
